Some folks may think that self-publishing began with theinvention of the PC (personal computer) and others may beconvinced that it has really taken off with the arrival ofAdsense. It is important to understand what self-publishing is and its’enormous potential to fully appreciate and indeed take advantageof Adsense. Actually self-publishing (the act of producing andmarketing your own writing) is as old as America. It is anAmerican tradition that is very much part and parcel of theAmerican dream. Ben Franklin was one of the first Americans toself-publish and many others have followed since. Mark Twain’sHuckleberry Finn was self-published. They could use it topromote their work and sell millions of copies of theirself-published work all over the world. Suddenly there was noniche that was too small to be viable.
